Robert William Badyk
Big Bad Bob
July 28 1946 – January 15 2015
We regret to announce the sudden passing of Robert William Badyk at the age of 68. Born to William and Elizabeth Badyk in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Sibling of Jeff, James, Bev and Debbie. In the early years he enjoyed hunting with his dad and brothers, football in college and muscle cars. At 21 years of age he joined the Royal Canadian Mounted police whom he faithfully served for 24 years obtaining the rank of Sergeant. He will be forever loved and cherished by his son Christopher Badyk and girlfriend Heather, daughters Tara Lyn Murray(Chad), Ashlea Mackintosh (Nathan) and the children’s mother Lynne. He will be especially missed by granddaughters Haylee, Emilee, Brooklyn and another little girl expected in April. Finally, he’ll be mostly missed by his cousin and best friend Shirley Stans, sisters (Bev & Arch), (Deb & Roger) and brother (Jeff & Bonnie), all nieces, nephews, cousins and friends throughout Canada. Predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth; father, William and brother James Badyk. After retiring in 1991, Bob was involved in many community activities. He enjoyed heading up the Vernon Men’s Club, Kalamalka Country Club and even jumping in as the Jock McRoc mascot at the Ford World Women’s Curling Championships. Bob was one of kind. Whether playing Cowboy up at the Ayre’s ranch, providing security at the Armstrong fair, watching over the grandkids, playing golf and hockey with the guys, his larger than life personality, laugh and jokes lit up every environment he was in. The only thing that will not miss Bob are the fish in Kal Lake. His everyday sanctuary in the summer was Kal Lake and his boat. Bob also enjoyed rebuilding old cars, painting, collecting antiques, hanging out at Fisher’s hardware and teen burgers. Most of all Bob cherished time with his kids and grandkids and valued his neighbours and was always there to lend out a helping hand. At the request of our father, there will be no service. A Celebration of Life to be announced at a later date.
Dad, you will be missed everyday.
