Following a battle with cancer on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at the Seven Oaks Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Robert Betts passed away at the age of 55 years.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 24 years Lorraine ,daughter Melissa (Mike), son Jeffrey (Debbie);grandchildren Stephen, Shania, Marcus; mother Blanche; sisters Louise Morrison (Jim), Gisele; brother David (Nancy) and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob is also survived by his step-children Dean Paulson (Tracy), Lisa Ungarian (Jason) and grandchildren Joshua and Chelsea Paulson.
Bob was pre-deceased by his father in 1996.
Bob was born in Whitehorse, Yukon and grew up on air force bases in Canada and France. He was the one in the family who always managed to “get caught” when trouble was brewing. He was the joker, and the life of the party at many events. He worked for Safeway in Winnipeg for 27 years. He loved golf, reading, family camping trips, and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He retired to Vernon, B.C. in 1998 where he enjoyed many days playing golf. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Funeral Service will be held at the Mosaic Funeral Chapel on Friday, January 2, 2008 at 11:00 A.M, located at 1839 Inkster Blvd (corner of Inkster and Keewatin).
Interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
