Robert (Bob) Henry De Leenheer

November 23, 2016

It is with deep sadness that the family announces his passing on November 23rd, 2016, in Peterborough, Ontario after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He leaves his wife Anne of 49 years, sons Kevin (Meredith) of Torquay, Australia, Brian (Kim) of Peterborough, Ont., grandchildren Anna, Eric, Aaron and Zoe, brother Norman of Courtenay, B.C., numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was born in Port Alberni, B.C., on May 5th, 1939 and grew up in Chase, B.C. He graduated from U.B.C. in 1962 with a Commerce Degree and obtained his C.A. Designation at Touche Ross in Vancouver. Shortly after his marriage to Anne in 1967, he began working as Controller for Brenda Mines in Peachland, part of the Noranda organization. He ended his 25 year career with Noranda in 1992 and moved to Vancouver Island working in Wos with Canadian Forests Products. He retired in 1997 and in 1998 moved to Vernon, B.C. He and Anne recently moved to Peterborough to be close to son Brian and his family. Bob was a great outdoorsman and sportsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, hockey, baseball, curling, golfing and skiing.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate a donation in his name to the Alzheimer’s Society.
