It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Ivo Anderson. Robert or commonly called ‘Bobby’ in his younger days and now ‘Bob’. He was born in Vernon where he lived all of his 78 years mostly living in Lavington and Coldstream, BC.
Bob was an active man who loved to fish and hunt spending many a day in the bush and driving around the back country to look for deer. He was a family man and loved camping with his family especially at Mable lake. Bob loved his ten winters in Yuma, loving the “75 and sunny” weather. He also loved golfing, relaxing on the deck, happy hour and shooting the breeze.
Bob was also called the “Big Kahuna” and was a husband, father, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend. He leaves behind his loving wife Laraine Anderson of 58 years; his three daughters Debbie Anderson, Lori Jeffers (Gordon Howard) and Pamela Vardabasso Anderson; 4 granddaughters Jami Jeffers, Chelan Jeffers, Amanda Barbillion (Cam Rintoul) and Marina Vardabasso (Nicole Van Damme); two grandsons Nico Vardabasso and Sean Howard; two great grandsons Brandon Jeffers and Heatly Jeffers; his brother Gary Anderson (Wendy Anderson); two sisters Joan Alexander (Dick Holweg) and Shirley Quigley and his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Bob was predeceased by his one son Ronald Anderson; his parents Ivo and Elizabeth Anderson and his one son in law Marino Vardabasso.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, September 7th from 2-4 p.m. at the Village Green Inn 4801 – 27th Street, Vernon, BC.
In lieu of flowers those wishing to make a contribution in memory of Bob may make a donation to the North Okanagan Hospice Society. Arrangements are in the care of Vernon Funeral Home. 250 542 0155
