1938 - 2016
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bob (Robert) Hassard on November 17, 2016 in Coldstream, BC. He was born to Edith and Elmer Hassard on November 19, 1938 in Vancouver, BC. Bob attended the University of BC, studying agriculture.
He is survived by his loving wife Karen; daughter Marni Insley; son-in-law Doug; grandchildren: Jesse, Georgia; sister Carol Wadsworth of Vancouver; and many other family and friends.
Bob was a born salesman always having his eyes open for a deal. As a young man he was employed by Fraser Valley Milk in Vancouver and then by Kraft Foods in Prince George. In 1980 he was transferred to Vernon where he finished up his career and retired.
His spare time was spent gardening and fishing. His main joys were walking his four legged friend “Gizmo” and engaging in conversation with friends and neighbours.
His spirit and attitude never wavered during his brief illness, he always had a positive attitude about the outcome.
There will be no funeral service at this time, open house to occur in the spring. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family at www.MyAlternatives.ca
