Robert De Pfyffer


We regret to announce the passing of Robert (Bob) de Pfyffer on May 22, 2006 at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital. Bob was born in Chicago in 1922, moved to Kelowna in 1932 and has lived and worked throughout BC ever since. He met and married his wife, Isabelle, in Revelstoke in 1958 and together they settled in Vernon in 1960 where they raised their four sons. Bob worked with the BC Assessment Authority until the mid ‘70’s when he started his own appraisal business which he retired from in the late ‘80’s. He was active in many groups and societies including Knights of Columbus, Okanagan Historical Society, UBC Senate, Retired BC Government Employees Union, Post Polio Society of BC, Stroke Club, BC Schizophrenic Society, and more.

Bob will be sadly missed by his wife Isabelle; his four sons John (Carla), James (June), Michael and Joel; his grandchildren Kelsey, Caitlin, Teri (Cory), Christina and Myles; his brother Charles (Joan); sisters Alice (Doug) and Marie (Reno); and large extended family and friends.

Prayers will be offered on Friday, May 26th at 5:00 p.m. from St. James Catholic Church where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 27th at 10:00 a.m.; Reception to follow.
