Robert William Gordon Egely

“Bob the Barber”

June 20,1944 ~ November 7, 2012

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that the loving family of Bob Egely announce his passing at the age of 68, on Wednesday November 7th 2012 in Vernon Jubilee Hospital. Bob moved to Enderby and area in 1976 and was an avid fisherman, golfer, outdoorsman, hunter, chef, and family man. Bob always had time for a smile, a joke, and a story; and if you were lucky a game of crib. Bob barbered in Enderby for well over the last 30 years. He was also very involved in our community as an active member of the Enderby Lions Club for the last 20 years and a member of the Legion for the last 10 years. Bob always brought a vigour, spirit, and laughter to the many fundraisers and events he participated in throughout the years in our community. Bob lived a very busy and fulfilled life. The legacy that Bob leaves behind is his inspirational tenacity; for even after loosing both his legs, and his many health issues, he found a way to get back to work and be “the barber” of Enderby once again. His story has touched us all and shown us the power of dreams that can be turned into reality. Bob leaves behind his three loving children Ryan, Aaron, Nicole (Troy), his two precious grandchildren Alisha and Kaylin Semkiw, and his two wonderful sisters Carol Rolston and Bonnie Jewell. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 42 years, Theresa Egely, in October of 2009.

He will be missed and loved for now and always.

All are welcome to celebrate Bob’s life at 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Enderby Drill Hall (200 George Street, Enderby, BC). Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family at
