It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert F. Murray at his home on October 26, 2003, at the age of 80. Bob was a decorated WWII and Korean War Veteran who served his country with pride. He is predeceased by Edna Murray, his wife of 50 years. Bob, Edna and family moved to Vernon in 1969 after Bob retired from the Armed Forces. From that time, until 1983, Bob worked as a letter carrier with Canada Post. He was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman, who thoroughly enjoyed all that nature has to offer. Bob is survived by his loving family, daughter Debbie and grandson Jeremy. Also survived by sisters Joan and Anne, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cherished friends. Funeral Service to be held in the Chapel of Vernon Funeral Home on Monday, November 3, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. Friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Bob’s Life immediately following the service, at the Royal Canadian Legion in Vernon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vernon Hospice House, 3506 – 27 Ave., Vernon, BC. Funeral arrangements are in the care of VERNON FUNERAL HOME, (250) 542-0155.
