February 16, 1941 – August 17, 2016
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Bob Vey.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rosalie Vey, and his children: Rob Vey, Shannon Vey, Amy Shelling, Sara Vey, Ed Bain, Lisa Bain, and his many grandchildren. Bob was predeceased by his first wife, Veronica Vey.
Bob will be remembered as a hardworking, fun, devoted family man who knew how to tell a good story, had the ability to fix anything and brought a smile to everyone he met. He spent many years as an electrician and still strapped on his tool belt for the odd job in his retirement. His love of hot rods brought so much joy to his life, and being a Drifters Car Club member brought him many friendships. An avid go-kart racer throughout his life, Bob recently returned to the track to renew his love with the sport. He instilled a life-long passion for the water in all his children and grandchildren, leaving them a legacy of fun and instilling in them a great sense of adventure and love for life.
He was respected by those he met and his absence will leave an indelible mark on many lives. Let those who knew him carry his laugh in their hearts.
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Bob’s life. It will be held at Laker’s Clubhouse on Wednesday, August 24th, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Bring your smiles and your memories.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Okanagan Hospice Society.
