Peacefully at Noric House, Vernon, BC, on Tuesday, May 31, 2005 Bob Longworth, aged 84 years, a resident of Vernon since 1960. Bob was born and raised in Saskatchewan and enlisted in the Canadian Army in 1942 serving overseas and in Canada until 1945. He came to Kelowna in 1946 and married Grace Baldwin in 1948. He worked at Chapman Moving and Storage and transferred to Vernon as manager in 1960 and later managed Coldstream Auto Wreckers until retirement. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and enjoyed gardening and mechanical work in his spare time.

He will be lovingly remembered by his family, wife Grace, Vernon, daughter, Shirley Breitkreutz (Bob), Williams Lake, sons, Mark (Geraldine) and Barry (Joanne), all of Vernon, grandchildren, Dean Breitkreutz, Joel (Tara) Breitkreutz with great grandchildren, Sierra and Travis, Michael Longworth, Jade Longworth and Eli Longworth, 2 sisters, May Hawkins, Biggar, Sk., and Adeline Ward, of Cardross, Sk., also survive. He was predeceased by, five brothers and four sisters. Memorial donations can be made to The Parkinson’s Society of BC, Suite 600, 890 West Pender St., Vancouver, BC, V6C 1J9. Private family graveside service will be held on Monday, June 6, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at Vernon City Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Personal Alternative Funeral Service. Vernon 558-0866.
