Wayne was born in Vancouver and at a very young age he, his sister and parents moved to the mountain by Schweb's Bridge now called O'Neil Rd and Salmon River Bench Rd. This was to be his home until we got married in 1967.
We had so many wonderful years together spending so many amazing times camping and fishing. Our kids were camping while still in diapers and holding a fishing rod almost before they could walk. Wayne taught them all about safety in the forest and waters while out in the wilderness. He also taught them how to ride a motorcycle which lead them to getting motorcycle licenses before a car licence.
He loved any holidays and would decorate our home according to the holiday we were in. Family dinners were everything to him during holiday times. He worked most of his life in the glass industry installing home and auto glass. During his time of having his own business (Wayne's Handy Glass & Windshields), he bought a little Model T car and entered it in many parades throughout the Okanagan. It was not unusual for him to win the blue first place ribbon in his category.
His love for community was second only to his family. His last place of work was at Kingfisher Boats where he loved working in the manufacture of the Kingfisher boats. This lead to his getting his own beautiful boat which we enjoyed for years taking to the many beautiful lakes in our province.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Christine Cross, children, Syndie Coulson and Steven Cross, twin granddaughters, Cassidy Coulson and Serena Coulson and great grandchildren, Aaliyah and Maverick and his sister Donna Sharp (John) along with many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements entrusted to Vernon Funeral Home.
