We regret to announce the death at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on January 11, 2004, of Ronald George Postill, at the age of 84 years. Ron was born in Vernon and was a resident of the area for most of his life. He was a veteran, serving overseas during the Second World War, and was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion. On his return to Canada, Ron was one of the first veterans to qualify for a V.L.A. grant, and with it, he purchased an orchard in Coldstream. He was an active member of the B.P.O.E. for many years also. Ron was a passionate fisherman, golfer and a dedicated snowbird, having spent many winters in Arizona. Over the past thirty years he also has hooked hundreds of small rugs, which he donated to family, friends, and charities. Ron will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Anne; daughters: Judy (Dave) Passmore of Richmond, Joy (Dave) Praill of Mission, and Wendy (Ed) Mattson of Vernon; and grandchildren: Lisa (Scott), Steven, Clayton, Kimberley, Leanne (Jeremy) Chris, Jonathan, Lisa (Kelly) and Marna (Dave). He is also survived by four great-grandchildren; brother Norm (Norma) and numerous extended family members. At his specific request there will be no public service held.
