It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of Ronald (Ron) James Waterman, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. Ron, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital. He was born February 7, 1938 in Vancouver, BC.
Ron joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1955 and retired in 1967 after 12 years of service. Ron then went on to a career with the BC Telephone Company at the coast. After retiring from BC Tel, Ron moved to Armstrong for small town living. He then began to further work installing Life Lines, was a Jail Guard for the RCMP Detachments in Enderby and Armstrong and a Security Guard for the Commissionaires.
Ron was an active volunteer, serving at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #35 and held many positions, Branch President, three different terms and became a life member. You could always find Ron at the Legion calling at the Meat draws, playing shuffle board, crib, dancing and many more of the fun events. Ron especially loved the Saturday Meat draws and the yearly Gavel passings. When not at the Legion, Ron enjoyed spending time golfing with the guys and camping with friends and family.
He will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by his, beloved wife Susan, daughter Patrisha Waterman, Step-daughter, Lisa and Keith Plummer (Dylan, Blake and Nicole), Fernie, BC, Step-son, Charlie and Jennifer Goodchild of Vancouver, BC, Step-daughter, Stephanie and Paul Garrison of Dawson Creek, BC, Step-grandchildren, Dylan Plummer, Blake (Nicole) Plummer, Kylee (Austin) Naylor, Hailey (Cordell) Freund and Step-great-grandchildren, Logan and Kach Naylor and many more loving family members.
Rest in peace Ron.

Celebration of Life will be held, Sunday, May 4, 2025, 1:00pm at the Legion in Armstrong, BC.
