BIGGS, Rose M. (Connell)

Born April 29, 1921 in St. Boniface, Manitoba

Died August 2, 2017 in Vernon, BC


Rose was predeceased by her first (ex-husband) Ed Hale in September 1991. Earl Biggs, her second husband passed away in May 1991.

Rose and Ed owned Hale's Superette, now Butcher Boys, in Vernon.

Rose lived in Winfield and Kelowna for over 25 years, moving to Vernon in August 2016. She was involved with the Army, Navy & Air Force and was a Life Time Member of the Legion.

She was an avid crib player with the seniors at Parkinson Recreation Centre, The Dorchester and Sarsons Crib Club, all in Kelowna and played Whist at the Kelowna Legion.

She is survived by son Bill Hale (LaVerne), daughters Deena Laturnus (Ken) and Madeline Taylor; two grandsons Darin Hale (Karen), Troy Hale; two granddaughters Krista Chambers, Stacey Zabel (Derek); five great grandsons and two great granddaughters.

She will be missed by her children's families, numerous nieces and nephews, many who still live in Vernon.

She was loved and respected by the Hale-lnglis clan.

Thank you to the staff of Vernon Restholm for making Mom's last year pleasant for her.

There will be a family get together to celebrate Rose's life.

Cremation handled by Springfield Funeral Home in Kelowna. Donations can be made in Rose's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Lung Association. No flowers please.
