Roy Thomas passed away suddenly on March 20, 2004 in Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops BC with his family by his side. Tom was born in Consort AB on January 4, 1917. He was one of nine children born to Lorena and Franklin Churchill. He is survived by his loving wife Phyllis. They would have celebrated their 68th anniversary on April 14, 2004. He also leaves; his sisters Anna May Churchill of Falkland, BC, daughters Rena (Hank) Schmidt of California, Ruby (Dutch) Wicklund of Sorrento, BC, son Roy (Lucy) Churchill of Surrey, BC, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and sister in laws. Tom was well known for his woodworking and loved to be in his shop making things. He was also an avid fly fisherman and trap shooter. Spending time with family and friends meant the world to him. You are loved so much. Rest in peace till we meet again. There will be an open house on Saturday, April 17, 2004, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Churchill residence, 1592 Kyte Road, Sorrento, BC to pay your respects. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to the Sorrento First Responders, Box 555, Sorrento, BC, V0E 2W0.
