It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Roy Daly to his heavenly home. He was born in New Westminster to Earl and Grace Daly. The family moved to Powell River when he was 3 years old, and this is where he met his wife Ruth, during their school years. They married in 1948 and together they had 4 children.
Roy is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, his 4 children, Ralph (Barbara), Joan (Bruce), Calvin (Irene), and Bradford (Chelley), 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by his remaining sister, Vera Bentley.
Roy worked in the mill in Powell River as a papermaker for 45 years. In the later years Roy & Ruth moved to Vernon and for 6 years lived in Assisted Living at Carrington Place where they were so happy.
After suffering a stroke Roy had been living the past 9 months at The Hamlets and the family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff there, for the excellent care they provided along with Dr. Barnard. Thank you also to Pastor Will
Wiens who provided pastoral care to both Roy and Ruth during this difficult time. A memorial service will be held at a future date when it is safe to gather. Arrangements entrusted to Pleasant Valley Funeral home (250-542-4333)
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Eagle Bay Camp c/o Vernon Alliance Church, 2601 43rd Ave. Vernon BC V1T 3L1 or the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 200 - 885 Dunsmuir St. Vancouver BC V6C 1N5
