Roy Lochrie passed away peacefully on May 30/2007. He will be deeply missed by his daughter Sharon. He was a devoted husband & wonderful father. He will always be remembered by his family & friends for his great sense of humour.
He was born in Regina, Sask. on Nov. 26/1921. He was the oldest of four boys born to Ellen & Ed. He served overseas in WWII with the Canadian Army. He married his wife Evelyn in 1951.
Roy was an auto mechanic for many years in Coquitlam. In 1969 he moved his family to 100 Mile House. In 1971 they moved to Vernon.
Roy had a great love for horses and enjoyed many good times chariot racing and horseback riding with his friends. He enjoyed making beer and sitting back to tip a few with his good friend Lloyd.
He was predeceased by wife Evelyn in 2002, his granddaughter Andrea, and his younger brothers Ed, Don & Doug. He is survived by his daughter Sharon (Nick) & several nieces and nephews.
His final days were spent at Noric House where he knew so many of the staff. A heartfelt thanks to the Noric Staff for making Dad’s last days comfortable & happy ones. You’re special people.
Cremation arrangements are in the care of the Vernon Funeral Home. There will be no service at Roy’s request.
