ROY NEF GUILD
Born February 26. 1914 at Vancouver B.C. and slipped peacefully to rest at Polson Multi two months before his 91st Birthday. He was predeceased by his infant daughter – Cloe, his eldest son – Leroy and his four sisters. He leaves to remember the many memories – his sweetheart and wife, to whom he was married nearly 68 years, and 3 sons Gordon (Carol) of Onsted, Michigan, Jim (Robin) of Invermere and John (Lorna) of Cherryville. Roy tried many different occupations during his life, ranging from lightweight professional boxer on the west coast to serving 4 years in the RCAF from 1941 – 1945. In his mid 40’s he returned to school and received his teaching certificate from the University of Calgary. He taught at numerous locations in Alberta and B.C. until his retirement at the age of 60. Other occupations in his life included Safeway manager, Welder, First Aid Instructor, Orderly, Mill worker, Butcher to name a few. He will be remembered for his many loves and passions – number one being his wife Phyllis, then his family and many, many friends. His HAM Radio Hobby (VE7FN), reading and his faith in God. He had a long, full and happy life, savoring each and every day. His teasing smiles and quick wit will be missed by all who knew him.
