Ruben Richard Seibel passed away peacefully at Vernon on Tuesday, October 31, 2006. Aged 91 years. Ruben will be lovingly remembered by sons Dick (Ruth) of Bowden, Ab., Don (Doris) of Kitchner, BC and Dave (Mary) of Cumberland, BC; daughters Nora (Floyd) Ternier and Betty (Ken) Rees of Armstrong; brother Allan of Calgary;
sister Irene Lachance of Red Deer; twenty-three grandchildren; fifty-one great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Predeceased by wife Beulah in 1991, sons Renne in 1964 and Jim
in 2003, grandson Clint Ternier in 1993, two brothers and three sisters. Ruben was born
January 20, 1915, in Lodi, California, the fourth
of eight children. He and Beulah were married
in 1937 at Red Deer and they farmed at Pine
Lake, Alberta for many years before moving to
Armstrong in 1965. Ruben farmed in the area as
well as working for the Department of Highways in Vernon until retiring. He enjoyed music, played violin in a band, loved woodworking and family
time. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 4, 2006, at the Armstrong Fish and Game Clubhouse. Dave Seibel officiating. Interment in the family plot of Armstrong Spallumcheen Cemetery will precede the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Clint Ternier Fund at Valley First Credit Union or c/o Nora Ternier, 4664 Hallam Road, Armstrong, V0E 1B4.
