Ruth Bawtree (Swaby)

The family of Ruth Bawtree are sorry to announce her sudden passing on August 21st 2019.
Ruth Bawtree (Swaby) was born in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, England Dec. 19, 1922 to Jane and William Hardisty Swaby.
She married Leonard Bawtree, Enderby, B. C. on July 2 1945 in Louth, County of Lincoln, England. She immigrated to Canada in June 1946 and arrived in Salmon Arm on the train July 3 1946.
She is survived by daughter Angela and son Leon, daughter in law Jane. Grandchildren David (Charity) Bawtree, Shannon (Dale) Almaas, Christopher (Lysa) Solic, their sons Rio and Mavrick, all of Enderby, and Melody (Elamine) Soufi and their sons Liam and Jordan of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her husband Leonard Bawtree in 2014, her parents, brothers Tony and Peter all in England. Also her son Peter Bawtree, grandsons Francis Callaghan, and Lauren Bawtree.
She was very proud of her flower garden and raised a large vegetable garden every year. She was a charter member of Ashton Creek Chapter IODE. She was also a member of the Riverside Ladies Club.
Celebration of her life will be at the Riverside Community Hall, 3784 Trinity Valley Road, Enderby BC Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019 at 1 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family at www.MyAlternatives.ca.
