Sandra (Sandy) Ann Muff (nee Mack)
Sandra (Sandy) Ann Muff (nee Mack) surrounded by her family on June 17, 2011, at the age of 63, passed away at the Vernon Hospice House after a sudden and difficult battle with cancer. Sandy was born on March 17, 1948 in Lac La Biche, Alberta and moved to Smithers where she grew up with her family. Win and Sandra started their family in Whitehorse, Yukon and moved to Vernon, British Columbia in 1988.
Beloved wife of 35 years to Win and loving mother to Stephen, Jennifer and Michael. She is survived by her sisters Kathy and Judy, and predeceased by her parents Gladys and Arthur, and brother Keith. Sandy will be sorrowfully missed and lovingly remembered always. She exuded a passion for life that radiated from her warm smile and twinkle in her eye which remained until the very end. She loved hiking and kayaking at Kalamalka Provincial Park and at a variety of locations close to her winter home in Mesa, Arizona.
Sandy showed her compassion and empathy for others by working as a Certified Education Assistant at BX Elementary, Vernon Secondary and Fulton Secondary and as a Resident Care Worker at Edgehill Manor. For many years Sandy was a dedicated volunteer with the Vernon Figure Skating Club. She spent many nights sewing costumes for competitions and ice shows for her children, as well as many other skating families.
A Memorial Tea Celebration will be held at her home at 1536 Apex Lane in Vernon between 1:00 and 5:00 pm on June 25, 2011. For those who wish, donations in lieu of flowers, may be made to the North Okanagan Hospice Society at 3506 27th Avenue, Vernon, BC. V1T 1S4.
