Ogilvie A.T. (Sandy)

15 June 1921 – 14 October 2007

Sandy lost his battle with cancer Sunday, October 14th, 2007, at Hospice House in Vernon. Sandy was born and raised in Manitoba, served in the Second World War as a radar technician for the RCAF. He lived and worked in many places including Calgary where he met and married Gladys. Sandy, Gladys and Dave moved to the farm at Mara in 1967 where Sandy spent many years working and tending to his large vegetable garden. Sandy and Gladys retired to Vernon where he enjoyed curling, bike riding, long walks, photography and growing a few flowers and tomatoes. He was predeceased by his parents James and Caroline, his wife Gladys, brothers Fred, Jim and Bill, sisters Peggy and June. He is survived by his brother Tom (Dell), his son Dave (Darlene), stepson Gord (Mona), stepdaughter Marilyn (Jim), grandchildren Mitchell, Connor, Judy (Darrell) and Jamie, great grandchildren Kyle and Kristina and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Sandy may be made to the Vernon Hospice Society, 3506 27th Avenue, Vernon B.C. V1T 1S4. A memorial celebration for Sandy will be held on Saturday October 20th at 2pm at the Best Western Vernon Lodge.
