Sarah Jane Dringenberg
was born in Dysart, Ontario on January 1st, 1919 and passed away peacefully on July 22nd, 2010 in Vernon, B.C. at the age of 91 years. Sarah will be lovingly remembered by her four sons; Ed (Ruby) Zappone of Quesnel, B.C., Jim Zappone of Salmon Arm, B.C., Don (Darlene) Zappone of Langley, B.C. and Wes (Lenore) Wynne of Tucson, Arizona along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Sarah was preceded in death by three husbands; James Zappone, John Wynne and Ed Dringenberg, four brothers; Charlie, Albert, Bud and Don Palmateer, one sister; Ellen Burrows and her parents; Ernest and Bessie Palmateer.
A Memorial Service celebrating Sarah’s life will be held on Saturday, August 7th, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. Please call Jim Zappone for location details at (250) 832-5875.
At the age of 16, Sarah and her family moved west from Ontario. She spent a number of years in Alberta before moving to British Columbia where she lived for the last forty years of her life. Sarah was an adventurous woman who loved the outdoors, fishing, traveling and partying. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting where she made many wonderful pieces that she shared with family and friends. Sarah loved her family with all her heart and took great pride in her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Polson Extended Care Unit and Gateby Care Centre for the wonderful care shown to mom during her time in their facilities.
