August 29, 1942 - June 26, 2022
In loving memory ~
June 26th, 2022 was the saddest day for our family. Our beautiful, sweet and loving Sharon passed away in Nakusp, BC with her husband Joe by her side. Sharon and Joe were camping at the time which was something they loved to do and have instilled this through the entire family. Sharon was born August 29, 1942 in Prince George, BC.
She is survived by her husband Joe, children Pam (Ted), Rob (Dale), grandchildren Kayli (Jeff), Braydon (Shelby) and one great-grandson Jhett as well as her brother Dale (Lorna). Sharon was a hairdresser of many years working in various shops in Vernon as well as being self-employed in her home. She loved gardening and enjoyed a quiet moment each morning with her flowers or sitting by her pond. Sharon was a tireless worker, she liked to stay clutter free, constantly organizing.
She liked to express her creativity, often in her home, her cooking, hairdressing and arranging flowers. She helped give her family a strong sense of place and home with her ability to make things safe, predictable and always welcoming others with open arms. Sharon loved to explore new places with husband of 60 years, Joe. The two travelled to NWT, Alaska, Haida Gwaii, Newfoundland, Hawaii, Mexico, Cuba and Montreal as well as many lakes and campgrounds within BC.
Sharon was a devoted mother, daughter, grandmother, and friend. She nurtured all she knew, including her dogs who always got the royal treatment. She had great empathy for those down on their luck, often donating to charities or volunteering her time. If you were lucky enough to be her friend, you were a friend for life. To know Sharon, meant you got all her honesty. If she disagreed, she let you know but she was also always willing to forgive and therefore strengthen a bond.
Sharon loved the outdoors. Always appreciating the view, the bird song, the water in the lake. This love has been passed down to all the family. We will see your strength in the tallest trees, your beauty in the flowers that bloom in the spring, hear your voice in the bubbling stream, feel your loving arms in a gentle breeze, and know your sense of wonder as we explore new places. The whole family had a wonderful time recently surprising Mom and Dad at Herald Park where they were camping. It was such a happy start to a new camping season. The first trip for her new great grandson.
She was so happy to have 4 generations together doing what she loved! Sharon, Mom, Grandma will be fiercely missed by all who loved her. She lived the life she chose and lived it to its fullest. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Arrow Lakes Hospital for their care for Sharon.
