July 20, 1949-August 24, 2005

Shay died peacefully in the company of her family at Rotary Hospice House in Prince George, B.C. Shay spent the early part of her adventures in Bengough, Sk. and Edmonton, AB. She moved to Prince George in 1973 where she was very active in the sporting community for and with her children, Scott (Randi) and Daphne (Jim). Shay encouraged and supported adults and children to be very active and to do their best with whatever ball life had to throw at them. In 1995, Shay moved to Vernon, B.C. where she made a new family for herself at Spallumcheen Golf Course. It was there that she found peace and solitude, especially on her favorite challenge, Hole 16. Shay loved and lived for the challenge of golf, but her love of golf didn’t compare to the love and joy brought by her grandkids, Emma, Tyra and Quinn. Shay was the best mother, gramma, sister, friend and teacher; we will miss her deeply. Scott (Randi) and Daphne (Jim) would like to thank all of those involved in the last weeks of Shay’s adventures, including Dr.s Textor and Eckersley, home support (nurses and care aides), the ladies at PGRH Cancer Care Unit, the amazing staff at Rotary Hospice House and last but certainly not least, all of our family and friends. There will not be a service at the request of Shay. Scott and Daphne will host a Celebration of Shay’s Life and accomplishments on September 4, 2005, 1-6 pm at 835 Lasalle Ave. If desired, please make donations to Rotary Hospice House. “Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty or handsome, well-preserved body, rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, worn out and loudly proclaiming…WOW! WHAT A RIDE!”Prince George Funeral Service Ltd. in care of arrangements. 1-877-564-3880
