TARAZI
David Shibly Tarazi died on April 27, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Mary Nasir Tarazi, his daughter, Hala Spisso, his son-in-law Kenneth Spisso, his grandson, William Spisso and sister Najiah Tarazi. Besides his immediate family, David has many relatives in Canada, United States and around the world. The Tarazi, Nasir and Farah families have all sent their condolences. David was born April 7, 1912 in Ghaza, Palestine. He was educated at the University of Beirut taking a Bachelor of Science degree. He was an air and water pollution scientist working both in research and in the field. He worked around the world, including the Middle East, holding positions with the Unitied Nations. He worked at Southwest Research Institute in Houston, Texas and instructed at King Fahad UPM in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Despite a heart condition requiring by-pass surgery in 1973, David lived a vigorous and full life. He is best known for his generosity, his broad scientific knowledge, his love of humanity and his fervent desire for peace in the Middle East. He will be missed dearly by Mary his wife of 65 years. He is fondly remembered by his grandson Will, who spent many hours at his side being tutored in the basics of education and the values of life. His daughter Hala will miss his guiding spirit, but rejoices he is alive in Christ. His many family members and friends have all expressed their deepest sympathy on his departure from this world to the next. Friends wishing to pay their last respects to David may do so at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home in Vernon, on Monday evening, May 5, between 7:30 P.M. and 9:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held there on Tuesday, May 6, at 1:00 P.M., with Pastor Everton Weeks officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
