It's with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother (Nan) and great-grandmother Shirley Ilene Lewis (nee Legg) on 8th of June, 2018 in Richmond, BC.
Mom was predeceased by our father, William Thomas Lewis in November 2009, and is survived by her children, Dan, Jeff and Adrienne and their spouses Deborah, Jill and Richard respectively; her grandchildren, Annwen (Ani) and Joshua Lewis, Ethan and Luke Kowalski, and Rowyn Lewis-Hatherley, as well as her great-grand-daughter Elise Madelein Lewis.
Mom lived life large with her many friends kept since her early days as a nurse, through 46 years working and raising her family in Vernon, BC. Her final years were lived in a struggle with Alzheimers, during which she was cared for with gratitude by Richmond Lions Manor.
There will be private gatherings of family and friends to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, mom's wishes were for donations to be made to the Canadian Friends Service Committee in honour of our parents long association with the Quaker community in Canada and abroad.
