Shirley lived all her life in Vernon attending Mission Hill School for her elementary years. She completed her senior years at Vernon Senior Secondary. Shirley began her career in the restaurant business and managed Willy’s Motor Inn for over twenty years. Shirley would start every day with a run, taking one of her dogs with her. She averaged fifteen miles per days and ran a marathon once a week. Shirley leaves to mourn her son Damian William Leitner, a brother Joe and her parents Willie and Sylvia (Thorburn) Leitner all of Vernon.
