SHIRLEY SALT

Shirley Leah Salt

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Leah Salt on January 10th, 2011 in Shuswap Lake General Hospital at the age of 82. Grandma Shirley was born in Vernon, B.C. on January 6, 1929 and was the youngest of three children. She is predeceased by her husband George Salt, son Stuart George Salt and brother William Forester. She leaves behind her loving family: Sister Norma Johnson of Vernon; children Patsy (Tony) Vetter of Enderby, Bob Salt of Grindrod and Doug Salt of Enderby; nine grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Grandma Shirley was a beloved mother and a treasured grandmother to many. She had a wonderful sense of humour and was always young at heart. Grandma Shirley loved reading, playing Scrabble and card games, listening to Elvis, painting, spending summers at Mara Lake and spending quality time with her family and many friends.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Annan of Enderby for his long-term care, and the doctors, nurses and staff at Shuswap Lake General Hospital who were so helpful and caring during Grandma Shirley’s final days.

A memorial service will be held at the Enderby Evangelical Chapel on Saturday January 15, 2011 at 1p.m. (tea to follow).
