Siemon Jacobus – born May 23, 1933 passed away May 1, 2006 in Langley. He immigrated to Canada with his family in 1951 where they settled in Duncan. In 1957 he married Reggie Bonokoski and they moved to Victoria where they had four children. There he successfully built up several automotive-related businesses. In 1975 they moved to the Kootenays and eventually to the Okanagan where Sam managed the Salvage Operations for ICBC. He retired to Winfield in 1991 where he spent 9 years pursuing his passion of restoring vintage cars. He relocated to Langley in 2000 and spent his last years with his companion Willy Weismiller, until he eventually lost his battle with cancer. Sam is survived by his four children; Pattie (Bernard Faure) of Canmore AB, Mary-Lou Huculak (Don) of Kelowna, Sam (Patti) of Calgary, AB and Maureen Drake (Dave) of Vernon as well as grandchildren Alyssa, Siemon, Richie, Anna, Stephanie and Marc. He is also survived by his brother Jack and sisters Ann, Dina, Margaret, Mary, Helen and Johanna as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 9 at 12 o’clock noon from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 20680 Fraser Highway, Langley.
