SONJA (SARAH) UNGER ARENS

Sonja (Sarah) Unger Arens, beloved mother, grandma, great grandma and great great grandma, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2004 in her 94th year. Born in Russia, Sarah emigrated to Canada with her family in 1926, settling in Herbert, Saskatchewan. She married her husband, John in 1931 and in 1941 they decided to move their family to B.C., establishing homes in Surrey, Blind Bay, Quesnel, Kamloops, McLure and Armstrong. Sarah will be sadly missed and forever remembered by her daughter Meg Hartnett, sons Henry (Janet) and Ben Arens; six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild; sisters Kate (Hank) Thiessen and Helena Agar and brother Peter Unger, plus a large extended family and the caring staff of Polson North Extended Care. She was predeceased by her loving husband John; son, Neil; granddaughter, Neilain Arens; three brothers and two sisters. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
