Stanley (Stan) Charles Laurence Chapman

was born on February 23rd, 1951 in Calgary, Alberta and passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 30th, 2012 in Vernon, B.C. after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Stan will be forever remembered and cherished by his loving wife; Jacquie, to whom he was married for 41 years, his son; Steven Chapman of Vernon, B.C., his daughter; Jennifer (Don Jones) Chapman of Vernon, B.C., his grandsons; Tyler and Gabe of Vernon, B.C., his sisters; Kathleen Woods of Calgary, AB, Fran McMullen of Richmond, B.C. and Robyn (Bill) Doerksen of Kamloops, B.C., his mother-in-law; Thea Chapman of Vernon, B.C., his sister-in-laws; Cheri (David) Gibbons of Delta, B.C. and Linda Coyle of Calgary, AB along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Stan was preceded in death by his father; Frank Chapman, his mother; Betty Clarkson, his brother-in-law; Randy Coyle and his loving dog; Charlie.

Stan received his education in Nanton and Fort McLeod, Alberta where he met and married his High School sweetheart; Jacquie. There son Steven was born in Lethbridge, Alberta where Stan worked for a short period with CPR. They then moved to Abbotsford, B.C. where their daughter Jennifer was born. While in Abbotsford, Stan completed his training with B.C. Tel. He then went on to work for AGT in Grande Prairie, Alberta, OK Tel (BC Tel) in Revelstoke, B.C. and finally with Telus in New Westminster, B.C. Stan retired in 2006 after 33 years with the telephone company. Stan was an avid hockey fan, player and coach and enjoyed time as a Volunteer Fire Fighter in Revelstoke, B.C. Stan was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who was always there for you. He was always the life of the party, fun-loving, yet down to earth, compassionate and a good listener. Stan thoroughly enjoyed the past 5 years of his retirement. He took great pride in his beautifully landscaped yard and could always be found outside mowing the lawn and pruning his trees. He loved camping at Sugar Lake, was forever renovating his house, enjoyed meeting his friends for coffee, walking his dog Charlie and spending time with his family.

Cremation preceded a Celebration of Stan’s Life which will be held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Monday, February 6th, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. with Mr. Brian Jackson officiating. A Reception will follow in the Tea Room at Bethel Funeral Chapel.
