Stanley Douglas Gardner

It is with sadness we announce the sudden passing, at the age of 62 years, of Stanley Douglas Gardner on January 8th, 2009. Born on January 10, 1946 in St. Boniface, Manitoba, Doug resided in Vernon for the past 36 years. Doug served with the Canadian Air Force as a member of the Peace Keeping Forces doing crash rescue. For many years Doug was a well known fire inspector working for the North Okanagan Regional District. Doug loved the outdoors enjoying camping and fishing. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Peggy; sons: Rob (Nikki), James and Neil; and 4 grandchildren. His brothers: Don, Jim and Jack (Marlese) further survive him. In keeping with Doug’s wishes there will be no service. Those wishing to do so may make a memorial donation in Doug’s memory to the Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans in Canada, Unit #5, 2500 – 46th Avenue, Vernon, BC V1T 8S2.
