In loving memory ~
Sadly the final notes from Stevie, the Piano Man, have sounded. Stephen Laurie Todd, was born in Powell River, BC on December 2, 1956. He made music his life and was the keyboard player, vocalist and guitarist in many bands and recording projects; including Linda Curtis, Pacheena, Gyprock, Alibi, Sue Medley, Fox, The Big Band Trio, The Traveling Band, Nearly Neil, The Buicks, 1/2 a Quorum and so many others. He played on cruise ships, toured Canada and journeyed to many parts of the world, and was known widely in Vernon and the Okanagan for his single and duo work.
Stephen had suffered health challenges over the past few years and died suddenly in his home of natural causes.
He was the youngest of three brothers and a sister, predeceased by his parents, Jean and Laurie, brother Terry (Shirley) and son Ryan. He is survived by his brother Michael (Joyce) of Vernon and sister Jocelyn (Holmes) of Chandler, AZ, and many other relatives. He was fond of his nephews and nieces: Keith, Bruce, Heather, Greg, Kathleen, Ian, Nancy and Blair.
Stephen will be fondly remembered and missed by his family, his many friends and his large musical network. His energy, kindness, and ability to lift us with his spirit through his music is something we will sincerely miss. The Todd family would like to thank Dr. Kwantas and Dr. Chai for their unselfish help of Stephen's care. A music memorial is planned for the future where we can all celebrate Stephen's life.
