Steve Warne


Steve Warne was born in Calgary on July 26, 1964, growing up in Fairview, Alberta until the age of 11 when the family moved to Edmonton in 1975. They moved to Olds in 1977 where Steve remained until 1996. Steve moved briefly to Red Deer then Vernon, British Columbia. Steve enjoyed his family and friends, trying to spend most of his time active and outdoors. Steve enjoyed playing sports, as a young man this included hockey, swimming, and long distance running, as an adult he continued with hockey, both ice and ball, skiing and baseball. He could be found out in his boat on the lake most weekends throughout the summer. Steve worked 14 years in the oilfield while living in Alberta with 10 years at the Harmattan Gas Plant. After moving to Vernon he became a journeyman plumber recently moving into business for himself as “Steve the Plumber”. Steve died in his home on June 13, 2010. He leaves behind his parents Harry and Elsie Warne; sister Laura Warne; niece Jaquelynne LaFlamme; uncle Donald Warne; aunts Anne Adams, Dorothy Warne, Iris (Earl) Storie and Shirley (Jim) Hutchison along with several cousins. Steve also leaves behind many friends both in Alberta and British Columba. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the Olds United Church.
