It is with great sadness that the Bartsch family announces the passing of Susan Bartsch. She died peacefully on April 20, 2016 with her family at her side.
Susan was pre-deceased by her husband Jacob, her grandson Benjamin and her brothers Bernie & Wilbert. Together Jake & Susan raised a family of 4 boys in Williams Lake BC. Later in life they retired to Vernon and enjoyed the sunny Okanagan. Susan loved to pick and process fresh fruit and vegetables – she provided family and friends with delicious food at celebrations and events throughout her life. Susan enjoyed a long and productive life – in later years she married Larry Vogstead, now deceased, and they enjoyed happy times together with their many friends and dedicated countless hours to their church.
Susan is survived by her sisters Elsie Pannabecker and Verna Regier & husband Victor. And her sons and their families: Richard (Eleanor) and sons Steven & Darren; Robert (Linda) and children Verne & Karleen and Andrea & Adam; David (Sandee) and twin girls Sara & Rachel; Dale (Annette) and children Nicole, Bryce and Lucas. She was also blessed with two great grandchildren, Mary Katherine & Jacob Karl Bartsch.
Susan cherished her grandchildren and spent many happy hours with them – playing and teaching them life skills. Her house was like a little day care for Steven, Darren, Verne, Andrea, Benjamin, Sara, Rachel, Nicole, Bryce and Lucas.
A memorial service will be held on June 20, 2016 at ll:00 am at the Church in the Valley, 23589 Old Yale Road, Langely, BC V2Z 2K4. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Adventist Disaster Relief Agency of Oshawa, Ontario, or the Acts of Kindness Centre in Abbotsford, BC
