Susanna Maria 'Susan' Larsen (nee Klippert)

May 16, 1921 - March 26, 2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Susanna (Susan) Larsen. She was called Home to be with her Lord and Saviour on March 26th, 2023, at the age of 101. She lived a long and wonderful life.
Susan will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jerry (Caroline) Klippert of Airdrie, Alberta, Wayne (Karen) Klippert of Vernon, B.C., and Angela Arscott of Victoria, B.C.; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Lily, Betty, and Evelyn; numerous nieces, nephews, and their families; the family of her second husband; and her many friends, including her dear friend Anna.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Herman Klippert in 1971; her second husband, Erik Larsen in 1995; her parents, Augustina and Jacob Rauch; two sisters, Eva and Violet; two brothers, Joe and Adam; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and brothers-in-law.
Susan was born in Eatonia, Saskatchewan, on May 16th, 1921. She spent her early years living and working on the family farm. When she married Herman, they moved to Leader, Saskatchewan, where they raised their three children until 1954, when the family moved to Vernon, B.C. Seventeen years after Herman passed away, Susan married Erik.
Susan was a pillar of support for her family. She was full of love, compassion, and kindness. She loved everyone and everyone she met loved her. Her faith in God and love for her family was what she lived for. She cherished her family and friends and always welcomed them into her home.
She found much joy in her crafts and hobbies - from painting and embroidery to crocheting and knitting - she always had a project on the go. Susan loved to cook, bake, and was an avid gardener and reader.
A private Graveside Service for family and close friends was held at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at Alexis Park Church on Tuesday, April 4th, 2023, with Pastor Shawn Robillard officiating.
A celebration of Susan's amazing life will take place on May 21st, 2023, which would have been her 102nd birthday. We are carrying on a family tradition of all coming together on her birthday - and we invite others to join us at 1:00 p.m. in the Skyway Village Clubhouse, 4740-20th Street, Vernon, B.C.
