HOATH, SYDNEY HAROLD
Born June 24, 1917, in Glenemma, B.C., Sydney Harold Hoath, aged 89, the last of his family, passed away at Vernon Jubilee Hospital, Vernon, B.C., Thursday, April 19th, 2007. In 1988 his wife, Mae, predeceased him. He will be sadly missed by his two daughters: Lorraine (Richard) Elsom, Falkland and Sharleen (Dennis) Tulloch of Williams Lake. Memories of Syd are left in the hearts of his five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren: Hughie (Mindy) Freeman and their children Sky and Kia; Dean (Tanis) Freeman and their children Morgan and Sydney; Josey Widdoes; Len Elsom and his children Jasmin, Chantell and Mackenzie and Gwen (Curtis) Latimer and their children Justin, Shailee and Otto. In 1940 Syd married Mae Lee and he remained in the Glenemma area until moving to Vernon ten years ago. Syd farmed, logged, was co-owner of a sawmill and was in the Christmas tree business. Travelling and playing crib, having played his last game the day prior to his passing, gave Syd great pleasure. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, April 27th at 1:00 P.M. at the Falkland Community Hall, Falkland, B.C.
