December 6, 1943 – January 24, 2022
Terry passed away peacefully at Vernon Jubilee Hospital at the age of 78. He is survived by his loving wife Emma and her family, both in Canada and the Philippines. He was predeceased by his father Tom Muir and mother June Muir Colley.
Terry graduated from Fulton Secondary School in 1963. He lived all his life in Vernon, except for 2 years in the 70’s, when he moved to Prince Rupert to manage the Sears Catalogue Store. Many will remember Terry in Sales at the old Sears Store on 30th Avenue. He came back to his cherished home on Okanagan Lake where he loved to entertain family and friends. In later years, he worked in Health Care and had many clients in the Vernon area.
Terry was very active in the community throughout his life. In early years he served as Chairman of the Okanagan Landing Regatta and Director on the Winter Carnival Committee. He was a proud member of the Jaycees, and Sons of Scotland Kildonan Camp, (Chief for a number of years). He also volunteered as Chairman for the Heart and Stroke Campaign. Terry had a passion for British Cars and spent his time tinkering on his latest projects. He belonged to the Okanagan British Car Club and participated in many club events and car runs.
Thank you to Dr. Perrier and to the staff who cared for Terry at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. A special thanks to his neighbors at Okanagan Landing, the Diokno family from Kelowna, and friends who helped to make his last days at home more comfortable.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, 4303 Pleasant Valley Rd, Vernon BC.
