Theodore (“Ted”) Werschke passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on March 10, 2003, at the age of 74 years. Ted was born in Poland. He moved to Canada and resided in Edmonton for a number of years prior to moving to Prince George. Ted was an expert upholsterer, with a shop in Edmonton for a number of years, and owned and operated Northern Upholstery in Prince George. He spent 35 years in this craft. He was also employed by the CNR for 14 yeas, and moved to the Okanagan in 1994 following his retirement. As a younger man, Ted was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to ski, golf, hunt and to curl. Ted was a Life Member of the Elks Lodge in Prince George. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 26 years, Thelma; children: Grant (Colleen), Trent, Graham (Karen), James, Sharon (Terry), Dan, Jim (Jeanne) and Sandy; 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Ted is also survived by siblings: Kate, Hilda, Ruth, Frieda (Johnny) and Les (Emily) and Don and Doreen Kier; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Cremation. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 15, at 3:00 P.M., in the Upper Hall at the Parker-Bonneau Centre at Parker Cove. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to do so may make donations in memory of Ted to the B.C. Cancer Agency, (Kelowna Clinic), 399 Royal Ave., Kelowna, V1E 5L3.
