It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Thomas on April 19th, 2020 in the Vernon Jubilee Hospital at the age of 49 years.
Thomas was born on April 8th, 1971 in Yellowknife, NWT to Paul and Iris Saftner.
He is survived by his mother, Iris; two brothers, Jack Leask and wife Juliette and Derrick Saftner; one sister, Roberta Saftner and husband Terry; his birth brother, Peter Mitchell; his birth sister, Eleanore Mitchell-Firth; nieces, Christina Lang and husband Scott, Opal and Janelle Leask; nephews, Kaia and Kale Lamarre, Chad Saftner and wife Araynia and Iain Leask; great-nephews, Justice Chase, Truth and Valor Lang; great-nieces, Faith Lang and Myla Saftner; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. He has joined his father Paul Saftner in heaven and we are sure he is taking care of him.
Thomas was cremated and a celebration of his life will be held at a future date.
