Thomas Nelson passed away peacefully at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on Friday, October 22, 2004. Tom will be sadly missed by wife of 55 years, Barbara; four sons, Don (Barb), David (Donna), Terry (Colleen) and Bruce (Penny). Also survived by twelve grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and special family friend Denise Nelson. Predeceased by grandson Curtis in 1999. Tom was born August 28, 1923, at Nelson and lived there until 1956 when he moved with his family to Kamloops. In 1966, Thomas and Barbara moved to Vernon. Tom spent most of his working life with BC Hydro. He loved the outdoors, was an avid hockey fan, enjoyed playing golf and tinkering in his shop. His family will lovingly remember his wonderful sense of humor, which he never lost during his short but courageous battle with cancer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vernon Jubilee Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 27, 2004, in the Banquet Hall of Spallumcheen Golf and Country Club. Captain Sean Wong officiating.
