Tony passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 23, 2010 with his wife by his side and surrounded by the love of his family and friends.
Tony is survived by his loving wife Wendy, children Nicole of Stony Plain Alberta, Angela of Kamloops and Alex of Lumby; his grandchildren and numerous family.
Tony was born in Edmonton Alberta on April 23, 1956 and grew up in Bella Coola BC. Tony lived and worked in many places throughout Albert and BC, finally moving to Lumby BC with his family in June 2000 to attend OUC’s RV Technician Program and later a Heavy Equipment Operator course. He was deeply devoted to his family and loved spending time fishing, hunting and camping. He will be missed by many.
The family wishes to thank the staff and volunteers at Hospice House, Dr’s Hardy and Johnson and all the staff at the Vernon Cancer Centre; Murray, Bonnie, Karen, Christine and the wonderful staff at Community Care, Dr. Jolly, Judy (Lumby IDA) and her staff, and all the wonderful people who supported Tony and his family on his journey.
A Celebration of Tony’s life will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Old Age Pensioners Hall (OAP), 1737 Glencaird, Lumby, BC.; interment to follow at Lumby Cemetery. Refreshments will be served at the OAP after interment.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tony’s name to the North Okanagan Hospice Society, 3506 27th Avenue, Vernon, BC V1T 1S4.
