Velma Rose Robertson beloved mother and grandmother passed away in Vernon Jubilee Hospital on November 18, 2017.
She will be dearly missed by her children-Anne McPhee (Robertson), Nancy Robertson, Ross Robertson: her grandsons-Alexander McPhee, Zachary McPhee and her son-in-law's Brad McPhee and Stephan Zimmerman.
She was known for her independent spirit, her great compassion, encouragement and support to those around her, never-ending optimism and her great love of life.
She was a surrogate mom to many, a friend, a confidant and always had an open door and a kind work to anyone in need.
Velma was an accomplished athlete in her early years and a Seniors Games participant later in life; she had a great love of many sports and supported her grandsons in all of their endeavours. She devoted many hours to her community, volunteering at Vernon Community police, the Royal Canadian Legion and tended the beautiful garden at the Schubert Centre.
The family would like to thank; Dr. Aucamp, Dr. Rourke and the Palliative Care & Community Care teams for the wonderful care that our mother received.
To honour Velma's request a memorial service will not be held, memorial donations may be sent to the Vernon Salvation Army.
