It is with heartfelt sadness that the family announces the passing of their loving mother, grandmother and sister; Vera Deildal on Saturday, February 6th, 2010 with her family by her side.
Vera was born in Bochowka, Poland on October 25th, 1924 and she immigrated to Canada with her family in 1928. She always remembered the “Big” oranges she was able to eat on that ship. The family settled in Rycroff, Alberta and the family grew to a total of twelve in which nine survived.
Vera will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters; Tillie of Calgary, Alberta, Darlene (Bernie) of Vernon, B.C., one son; John (Sandy) of Cloverdale, B.C., five grandchildren; Jesse, Brittni and Chelse of Cloverdale, B.C. and Colton and Dayna of Vernon, B.C., three brothers; Steve, Sam and Billy and two sisters; Sonya and Lena.
Vera was preceded in death by her husband; Gerry, her brothers; Peter, Walter, Mike, three baby boys and her parents; Afanasy and Annie Prystupa.
Vera moved to Vernon, B.C. in June of 2009 as her health made her unable to stay in her home she had for 35 years. We would like to thank the Care Aids and kitchen staff at Heron Grove for the compassion shown to mom and our family through this difficult time and to Auntie Sonya for the peaches.
Cremation preceded a Memorial Service which will be held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, February 10th, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor David Bunn officiating. A Reception will follow in the Tea Room at Bethel Funeral Chapel.
