KRIENKE, Vern Garfield

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Vern Garfield Krienke on October 4, 2014 in Vernon, B.C. Vern was born September 7, 1936 in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan. Vern started his career at Sask Power and then moved to B.C where he joined BC Hydro. In a career that span over 30 years Vern rose through the ranks from lineman to executive level. He enjoyed fishing, water skiing, flying model airplanes and he spent many years traveling to the Baja with his wife Millie. He was an active member of Rotary and Power Pioneers and spent many hours volunteering with the ELCIC. Vern’s faith was always at the centre of his life. He was an active member of every congregation where he lived and most recently at Peace Lutheran Church in Vernon. He will be forever loved and missed by his sons: Clifford and Colin and daughter Kerry. Further cherishing his memory are his grandchildren: Ryan, Jessica, Michelle, Taylor and Laurel and great-grandchildren: Phineas and Mila. He was predeceased by his wife Millie to whom he was married for over fifty years. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Peace Lutheran Church (1204 30th Avenue, Vernon, B.C) with Pastor Rick Schulz officiating. Those wishing to do so may make a memorial donation to Peace Lutheran Memorial Fund (1204 30th Avenue, Vernon, B.C V1T 1Z5).
