VERONICA PORTMANN (nee Purey-Cust)
April 16, 1937 – July 11, 2003
Veronica passed away peacefully on July 11, 2003 at Hospice House in Vernon, BC at 4:45 p.m. She was born in Sherbourne, UK to Brigadier and Mrs. Purey-Cust. Veronica moved to Canada in 1967 and married Hermann Portmann in June 1969 in North Vancouver and moved to the North Okanagan in 1981. Veronica is survived by: her husband Hermann Portmann, children: Robert Portmann of Blackfalds, Alberta; Heidi Smithson of Vernon, brother: John Purey-Cust of New Zealand, grandchildren: Kira, Darvin and Kaitlyn as well as numerous friends in England, Switzerland, Germany, Australia, New Zealand and BC
A Celebration of Life Service for Veronica will be held at All Saints Anglican Church in Vernon on Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at 2 p.m. with Canon Peter Davison and Reverend Anita Desjardins officiating. All friends are welcome to give thanks for her life. We ask instead of flowers, that donations be made to Hospice House in Vernon or the British Columbia Cancer Institute.
