February 21, 1933 - May 31, 2023
In loving memory ~
Victor Pshyk, (90) passed away on May 31, 2023, in Dundas, ON, after suffering long-term complications from a stroke in August 2022. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Victoria, and his daughter Christal Pshyk (David Kravinchuk).
Victor was born in Glendon, Alberta on February 21, 1933, to Ukrainian pioneers, James and Mary Pshyk. His family left Alberta to move to the Okanagan in the late 1940s. As the eldest son of nine children, Victor left high school in grade nine to work and help support his family. He met his beloved wife, Victoria, in Vernon, BC and they married in 1956. Victor and Victoria adopted their only daughter in January of 1969.
Victor was a hard-working and generous man, who would do anything to help his family and would give the shirt off his back to those in need. He could talk to anyone and was genuinely liked by all who met him.
He enjoyed farming and to live off the land was his dream. He achieved that dream and named it "Fernando's Hideaway" a 10-acre property on serene Otter Lake near Armstrong, BC. Victor also worked for Shell Oil and hauled livestock for Valley Auction.
In 2018, Victor and Victoria moved from Vernon, BC to Hamilton, ON to be near their only daughter.
Victor did not want any formal celebration of life service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Joseph Villa Foundation in Dundas, ON, where Victor was a long-term care resident and received excellent care before his passing. We love you Dad and miss you terribly.
