VICTORIA LEONE JORDE
Dec 10, 1913 – Aug 17, 2011
Passed peacefully at Pleasant Valley Manor in Armstrong the afternoon of August 17. Leone was born into a large family in the year 1913 at Cardston, Alberta. In 1933 she met Mel Jorde while visiting relatives in the Creston area. The following year they were married and spent the next 18 years in southern BC (Osoyoos, Keremeos, Boundary Country and the Creston Cranbrook area).
In 1952 they moved to the Yukon, and Whitehorse was their principle residence until 1960, at which time they moved to Clinton, BC. Clinton was to be their home until 1987, when they give in to the pleading of their sons and daughters-in-law and moved to Vernon, which would be home for the remainder of their lives.
Leone is survived by one sister, Eleene Quinton of Bountiful, BC; one daughter, Crystal Lowry of Layton, Utah; two sons, Garth (Bertha) and Ted (Tanya), both of Vernon; 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Most of Leone’s peers are long gone, but she will remain in the memories of her family always.
