Walter Lawrence Crombie passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, August 15, 2004. The last of his family, Walter is survived by wife Mary of Enderby, sons Walter (Jan) of Campbell River, Robert (Edna) of Silver Creek, Steve (Mary) of Vernon, Calvin (Fay) of Lillooet, Edward (Andrea) of Clearwater, Marvin (Dorothy) of Armstrong, Roy of Lillooet and William of Clearwater; daughters Alice (Howard) Brown of Falkland, Muriel (Maynard) Bradford of Dawson Creek and Dorothy Crombie of Salmon Arm; daughter-in-law Doris of Lethbridge; forty grandchildren, forty-five great-grandchildren, extended family and many friends. Predeceased by son Floyd, March 15, 1980. Walter was born at Gladstone, Manitoba, on December 27, 1899, and became a Seventh Day Adventist at age 19. He married Mary Smith at Brochington, Sask., in 1936. The family moved to Cherryville in 1946 and have lived in the Okanagan/Shuswap area since that time. Walter was a logger and a farmer and loved poetry. His religion was a very important part of his life. At the age of 98 years he stopped driving with a clean driving record. Walter and Mary moved to Enderby three years ago. A Funeral Service will be held 2:30 p.m., Friday, August 20, 2004, Grandview Flats Seventh Day Adventist Church. Burke Heimann officiating.
